Bride planning paying for and planning the wedding herself...?

I'm wondering if any bride has planned/paid for a wedding by herself and how difficult was it? This girl has no relationship with her mom and not going to have any bridesmaids or groomsmen at all. The groom gives opinions but she is doing it all on her own. Anyone with any experience on this--might be to stressful?
