How did Obama and Reverend Wright become such good friends?

We have been hearing about rev. wright for a while, everyone has heard of him and saw the tapes on youtube. those who were offended by him are not voting for obama anyway, yet he is still winning in the polls. My point is, since this information has been circulating for months and he is still winning, do you think bringing him up now will make a difference in November?
