Fibbing little cutie.... Help!?

I have a new stepson, and he has gotten into the habbit of fibbing and exagerating a lot, he is six. I talked to his dad and he had a little talk with him. But he is still in the habbit. When ever I confront him he swears that he is telling the truth even if I know he isn't, should I just leave it alone, or what?
