Can I have some advice?

My family and I might be moving to Brazil in 2-5 years. I have no idea how to speak Portuguese, but I need to learn. I tried Rosetta Stone, but it doesn't really help me that much...it's so boring, and because it's boring, I can't really stay focused on it if you know what I'm trying to say. I'm thinking about just immersing myself when I get there, but I don't know how that will help me. If any of you have suggestions, please let me know.
