Yes, it's a plywood top unless they specifically say *solid* spruce. Less expensive acoustic guitars typically have plywood tops in addition to plywood back and sides. The problem is that plywood just doesn't vibrate like solid wood, which cuts down on the volume and tone production of the guitar. In general it's a good idea to buy a guitar with a solid wood top.
